I knew about the power of detoxing for most of my life. Growing up in a West Indian household, my mom always gave me and my siblings a cup of Bitters to drink every once in a while. For the non-West-Indians, that is a kind of tea with cerasee or neem leaves that have many healing properties. I always had a bottle of Moringa Living Bitters on hand for if I felt like my body needed some cleansing. I didn’t detox for a while since I was pregnant with and breastfeeding my son. But after I stopped breastfeeding, I started looking for the right plan to reboot my body. I chose McG Health Fest’s plan because it is based on how your diet can help cleanse your body. The health plans are also very affordable. I started with the 3 Day Plan because I wanted to see how it affected my body before trying the other plans.
The 3 Day Plan promised that you would lose up to five pounds from the plan. However, my health goal is less about losing a specific amount of weight and more about becoming more in-shape and losing weight and gaining tone in my problem areas. My goal also was to become more energized and revitalized from eating healthy. The plan also encouraged people to sleep for six to eight hours and exercise for 30 minutes to an hour while eating healthy. At only $2.99, this plan is a great deal to jumpstart a healthier lifestyle.
Start Weight: 135.4 lbs (I weighed myself first thing in the morning before eating or drinking anything for the day)
Day 1 Exercise: 45-minute walk to the mall
Day 1 Sleep: 8 hours (It was the weekend!)
Day 1 Overall Mood: Drinking more water and eating more fruit definitely helped me feel more energized! However, while I was walking around the mall, I got a bit hungry. The smell of cookies and Cinnabon did not help the matter. I felt better after going back home and eating dinner, though.
Day 2 Exercise: Laundry Day at the Local Laundromat (which could get a bit intense in almost 90-degree weather!)
Day 2 Sleep: 8 hours
Day 2 Overall Mood: I felt even better after Day 2 of the Plan and had energy even after laundry day in the almost 90-degree heat!
Day 3 Sleep: 6 hours (My son woke me up at 7 in the morning)
Day 3 Exercise: Took a walk with my son for 20-30 minutes
Day 3 Overall Mood: I felt great! The only thing that was difficult was seeing my son eat snacks or meals that I couldn’t eat.
End Weight: 135.0 lbs (lost 0.4 pounds)
Overall Rating: 4.5 out of 5 stars
Overall Review: Even though I did not lose 5 pounds from the plan, I still felt a difference from it. I probably did not lose that much weight because I wasn’t overweight or obese and I ate generally healthier, smaller portions prior to doing the plan. However, I did notice a difference in my stomach bloating after the plan (Check out the before and after pictures to see for yourself!) Doing this plan also encouraged me to add more fruits and vegetables and water to my diet. Overall, I definitely recommend McG Health Fest to anyone, especially if you would like to transform your body physically and internally quickly!
